GUH State-Of-The-Art Vascular Hybrid Theatre

A hybrid theatre operating room is a surgical theatre with advanced medical imaging equipment. This enables minimally invasive surgery and hybrid complex open intervention. GE Allia IGS 7 hybrid theatre OR lab system in GUH is the first in Europe with the new advanced Artificial Intelligence technology. It is a robotic-driven imaging system for image-guided therapy that operates through laser-guided technology to enable exact positioning in the room. GUH hybrid theatre access and use augmented reality with ASSIST solutions to perform complex procedures while reducing radiation dose. In addition, it uses 3D visualisation software designed to provide Artificial Intelligence based virtual images. This help vascular surgeons in performing complex operations with confidence. GE’s hybrid theatre uses AutoRight technology, utilising Artificial Intelligence based images to enable surgeons to get the right image at the right radiation dose. As a result, AutoRight technology optimises the radiation dose for the patient. The system supports intraoperative CT imaging for complex minimally invasive vascular procedures. Intra-operative CT usage positively impacts patient outcomes by improving safety and lowering the risks of reinterventions and complications. GUH Vascular surgeons can plan, implement and confirm the success of the surgical procedure before the patient leaves the theatre. The Allia IGS 7 represents a significant advancement in image-guided therapy. Allia IGS 7 recently received international recognition as a Red Dot Design Award: Product Design 2022 winner. The Red Dot Design Award is internationally recognised as one of the most sought-after quality marks for good design.
